Kim Carr is a native Southern Californian whose roots date back more than 140 years. Her Great Grandparents were born in Los Angeles and she has celebrated the California lifestyle and beach culture her entire life. Kim attended Pacifica High School in Garden Grove and graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a degree in American Studies and a minor in Economics.
Kim was appointed to the Huntington Beach Public Works Commission in 2013 and served as the Chair in 2015. She also served on the Huntington Beach General Plan Advisory Committee in 2015. Kim is a candidate for Emerge California’s Class of 2018, a program dedicated to helping women run for office, and will graduate in April 2018.
Professionally, Kim is an award-winning executive with over 25 years experience in media sales. She is currently the National Sales Manager for a television station in San Diego where she develops marketing and advertising campaigns for a variety of clients. Kim’s commitment to integrity and hard work has earned her the respect of small- and mid-sized business owners as well as Fortune 500 executives. She believes in building and maintaining longterm relationships, delivering on promises and producing results.
Kim and her family have been active members of the Huntington Beach community for over 20 years. She, her husband and two teenagers have been involved with the Huntington Beach Community Garden, Girl Scouts, Seacliff Elementary PTA, Dwyer Middle School PTA, APA Junior, AYSO Soccer, Ocean View Little League, Huntington Beach City Junior Lifeguards, HBHS Model United Nations and the Surfrider Foundation. Kim has also completed the Surf City Half-Marathon twice!
In Kim’s free time she supports live local music, the arts, and enjoys camping in her 2003 VW Eurovan Camper. Her family has also adopted a rescue cat named Carnegie.
